How do you preserve the memories of elderly family members before they are lost forever? This interactive class will teach participants how to interview someone about their life, record the information and share it with other family members. We’ll also talk about using public records to add depth and detail to the telling of someone’s life.

What students have said:
“The University of Arizona accepted my proposal earlier this summer and gave me the green light to submit my entire manuscript... The rewrite is a direct result of your class. Originally, the chapters were written in academic historical style. After your class, I turned to writing it more as a story... My reader friends have liked that very much and that is what the three chapters I sent in are... Thank you for your help.”
“Thank you so much for all your help in this class. It has definitely been one of the highlights of my time at ASU.”
"When I first took your class, I was dreading it. I thought it was going to be another horrible journalism writing course. But in the end your class was definitely my favorite. I finally found a side of journalism that allows us to keep an aspect of our personalities in the mix."
"Your way of explaining things was clear and understandable and really helped me tap into my creative writing side."
“Very well put together [workshop] with wonderful tips, great examples and lots of encouragement.”
